Doing multimedia in practice

Cosmos is multimedia - dance, music, lighting, animation, visual installations, spoken voice. Getting it all together is no mean task. What do you think of how we’ve done it? If you’re a director or performer, any stories of your own to share?

Art and spirituality?

Do they really go together? If so, how? For me, as a Christian, it’s part of our belief in the coming of a “new heaven and new earth” (Revelation 21.1), which human beings can choose to help build. The artist reveals what is not seen, and so, if truly inspired, can offer a vision of hope and real beauty. It’s not about making everything “pretty” and refusing to recognise violence and injustice - rather, when we expose them, to offer a vision of peace and justice too. To offer real beauty.

What do you think?

Cosmos: The Nine. Full performance of Cosmos planned for summer

A full performance of Cosmos is planned for summer 2009. Thanks to the generosity of Notre Dame de France church, Leicester Square, we’ll again be performing in that beautiful place. Preparations and fundraising are beginning. Check the website for more details. To donate and help make it happen, click on the Donations button.

The Philosophy Behind Cosmos

To begin with, though, Cosmos is for people who think words aren’t enough. If you’ve ever said – or thought – “I’m tired of all this talk. Let’s do something about it!” then you’ll probably like Cosmos. As we’re now all being affected by the economic crisis as well as global warming, it really does seem to be a time when doing something, make a real change, is needed. We hope that Cosmos will empower us for that change.
